Nico wakes up to gagging and a soft glow coming from the bathroom.
His first thought is, bizarrely, that Hazel’s home. But her bunk is still empty, and her shoes aren’t by the door, and she didn’t wake him when she came in. She always wakes him when she comes in, even if it’s four thirty in the damn morning, because nothing makes her cackle quite like Nico choking back curses and tweaking under her smothering pillow.
“Shit,” comes a small voice from the bathroom, followed by more retching. “Shitshitshit, no —”
Nico bolts for the door.
“Hi,” Will says, or tries to. His scarred knuckles clench with every gag, wrapped too tightly around the rim of porcelain to tremble like the rest of him.
Something about the wobbly smile he keeps trying to form in between gags. Something about the sweat that has drenched his t-shirt, something about the deep circles under his eyes, something about his spot in the bed completely cold, wrinkled.
Something is not adding up.
“You’re not sick,” Nico murmurs, pressing the back of his hand to Will’s forehead. Will mutters something about bliss, leaning into Nico’s hand; he smiles again, but it is strained, and at odds with the glassy look in his eyes. The sharp, rapid breaths.
“Just don’t — feel good.”
Every word is punctuated by a big, heaving gasp, like he’s trying to breathe through heavy cotton. On a hunch, Nico slides his hands down Will’s face, brushing the goosebumps on his neck, the irritated, pulsing tendons, and rest flat against his chest, over his heart.
His heart that is pounding, so quickly it is actually challenging to recognise as a beat rather than a buzz.
“You’re having a panic attack,” Nico says quietly.
Will shrugs. He gags again, but clamps his mouth shut before it goes anywhere, breathing deeply and carefully through clenched teeth, squeezing his eyes shut. His heart pounds faster, and the rapid movement of his chest grows shallow, but he manages to choke back his bile, swallow down whatever nausea is plaguing him.
“I’m — fine.” His laboured breathing is the loudest sound in the cabin. In the camp. “I’m handling it.”
Nico watches him. Watches him clench his jaw and squeeze his eyes shut and make a noise like he is being betrayed, like he is being sold for thirty silver by his own body, his own mind; watches him flex his muscles rigid and hold himself still like he can stop the nails and thorns from coming. He thinks of wide smiles and far away eyes and mental health pamphlets and cheerful slogans on infirmary walls.
“I think one of those things are true.”
“I don’t need —”
Whatever he doesn’t need is forgotten, because he is heaving again, only this time his body finds something to dredge up, even if that something is stomach acid and he cries as it burns its way up his throat, and in between heaving he wheezes, horrible whistling gasping noises, and his hair plasters to his forehead, and his body slumps into Nico’s hold and jerks away from him like rocky waves against a lakefront.
“How long have you been here?”
Will just shrugs again, and he cries, and he says “Leave, please,” and Nico wraps an arm tighter around his waist, and presses a kiss to his sweaty temple, lingering, holding, tasting salt from Will and from his tears both, and squeezing his eyes shut, and holding back the anger. Gritting his teeth and softening his hold, deliberately, resting his fingers delicately on the dip of Will’s hip, the raised pink of the stretch marks along his ribs.
“I hate it when you run from me,” he murmurs, and Will sobs again.
“I can’t breathe,” he says, and Nico squeezes and promises he can. “I’m dying. I’m dying, I’m gonna —”
“I’m here, Will.” He doesn’t say you’re not dying. He doesn’t say you’re fine, because this is the longest they’ve sat together in five days, because it is the the quiet middle of June, because yesterday Kayla spent half her shift screaming at Will to get out and ignoring him when he shouted back. Because the bandage around Will’s wrist has been worn to threads, because Lee’s hoodie has not been washed in weeks, because there is a newcomer named Michael and Will cannot even look at him. Because it has been bad. “I’m here.”
It is as much a reminder as it is a plea as it is a reprimand as it is a fruitless nothing, because when Nico struggles he gets angry, when Nico struggles he gets mean and biting and violent, but when Will struggles he wants the world to kill him. And for all that Nico is halfway to the grave he has clawed and chewed and fought his way to survival. And when Will scratches at the skin around his ears and screams into his hands and opens the chapped over scars on his lips his palms his fingers, Nico can only hold him, Nico can only gently pry his nails from his flesh and tell himself that one day they will get to the point where Nico wakes up. Where Will wakes him up, where he burrows into the place between his arms and his chest and hides in someone else for once. Where he trusts someone outside of himself enough to bare his back.
“I’m here,” he whispers again, and he presses his lips to Will’s hair and holds him as he sobs, “I’m here, I’m here, I’m here.”

Jim Hopper HC - Celebrating Your Anniversary
Jim Hopper x GN! Reader
Summary: How Jim would celebrate your anniversary.
Warnings: Established Relationship, Fluff, Anniversary, Kissing, Mention of Arguments
- Would forget it's your anniversary. Wakes up in the morning thinking it's just another day, but since he's such a teddy bear with you, you'd thought he remembered, but nope, he's just clingy.
- Yearly anniversaries are the only ones he celebrates, feeling monthly anniversaries are something that kids do. Though if you celebrate them, he would slowly warm up to the idea; as long as it's just dinner and a gift, just as long as it doesn't feel like puppy love, he's okay with it.
- Always takes you out of town for a small vacation, partly to make up for forgetting it was your anniversary. Dipping into his savings to spoil you. Nice dinner, lake cabin, and small gifts—he does it all. Even if you want to stay in with no dinner, he still rents out a lakefront cabin out of town, being just the two of you.
- For when you have to eventually remind him that it's your anniversary, it ends in you both upset, him not knowing why you were and you for him forgetting. Finally, either El would remind him or you would angrily say "Happy Anniversary" before closing the bedroom door on him, leaving him to sleep in the living room.
- The anniversary vacation would last only for three days because Jim only has so many vacation days and not wanting to use them all, just in case of an emergency. Even when coming back home, in the mornings he spends them with you, cuddling up or cooking you breakfast before going to work in the afternoon.
Looking out at the still lake, watching as some birds flew through the cool air above it, having only arrived minutes ago at the cabin you both were to stay at for the days after your anniversary.
Interrupting your moment of thought, Jim's arms warp around you with kisses that attack your neck, causing laughs to erupt out of you. After the surprise attack, he rests his chin atop your shoulder, looking out at the lake that would be yours for the next three days.
Thinking of all the possible memories that could be made there, but the one you hold onto the most is the would-be mornings hearing the birds chirp outside while laying in Jim's arms, warm and half awake, knowing you'd stay in bed until the afternoon.
Hello, I hope you enjoyed if there is any grammar mistakes or misspellings sorry about that feel free to let me know in the comments, have a great day/afternoon/night!

“happy birthday, little cat,” alex muses with a sweet smile, holding out a stack of freshly made blueberry pancakes, covered in generous amounts of maple syrup and whipped cream. a single candle dancing in the light morning breeze as he steps out onto the patio to set the plate in front of his girl, lips brushing softly against her cheek. “make a wish, baby.” he encourages, phone already in hand, ready to record the moment she blows the candle out. he still can’t believe that october 5th, the best day of the year, is finally upon them. alex has been planning this moment for weeks, carefully thinking through every detail to ensure it’s nothing short of perfect. he wants it to be special, something that will make helena feel loved and appreciated, remind her just how much she means to him, how she’s changed his life in ways he can’t even begin to describe. “i have a little surprise for you.” he carefully sets a purple box with a small box adorning the lid on the beside the plate, his heart beating so fast as he studies her expression. his birthday girl. his sweet angel. inside she’ll find the very first american edition (one of only 1250 copies) of jane austen’s first novel — sense and sensibility. and a travel brochure of traverse city, michigan. it’s such a beautiful small town, and he booked them a lakefront cabin for the weekend, all she has to do is say yes and pack her bags. his own are already in the trunk of his car. “i love you, @batheir. happy birthday.”
#happy birthday <3!!!#batheir#you have no idea how much we love helena in this house :)!!#the fact that their birthdays are only a week apart is perfect bc they can start their own tradition of a BIRTHDAY TRIP :)#every year to celebrate both their birthdays they go on a fun trip :)#bye ilovethem

hello hello hello melon! id love to participate in your springtime garden event it is soooo lovely! my self ship is with jean kirstein and oh GOD i have to restrain myself because i have so much to say.
me and jean were childhood friends to lovers and we reconnected around ages 17/19 when we began meeting each other at the lake. i will say i was incredibly shy and timid, almost like a deer, because i had some trouble at home but jean always made me feel so warm and safe. he liked to fish and i sat beside him but i always cried whenever i saw the hooks get caught in their gils :( anyways! i love nature i love all things peaceful and serene like fairies and flowers and the soft colors of the sky in the morning, i will say im very gentle and creative! i love painting so much and, once jean starts building me a cabin at the lake so i can escape a pretty bad home life, he buys me watercolor paints and everything seems a little bit brighter. jean—despite being so loving and caring with me—is sooo grumpy! he prefers being with me at the lake and watching the sunset than going out and drinking. i have blonde hair i wear a bunch of long pretty skirts and lacy tank tops and jean is sooo country boy. beer drinking truck driving sweet boy with strong arms and a very sweet smile!!
and i wholeheartedly believe flowers have souls so there is no way i could possibly pick my favorite i pick wildflowers all the time and braid them into jeans hair <3
Omg I looove the relationship lore. Beautiful.
Petals on the Moon - Wasia Project
You sense him before he comes close to touching you—can feel his presence before he even steps into the room.
Jean lets out a low whistle, boots heavy on the wooden floor as he walks toward you.
“I swear you get more talented by the day,” he says, setting his glass of tea on the edge of your work table, careful not to disturb anything. “Prettier, too.”
You hum when he bends to kiss the crown of your head, laughing lightly when he inhales the scent of your shampoo.
“You should paint the walls, like a big mural or something.”
Silly. “Watercolor isn’t great for murals, sweetie. I’d need acrylic, and… well, I like this better.”
You gesture at the piece you’ve been working on for hours, a view of the lakefront, sketched from your porch swing.
“Okay,” Jean nods like he understands. “Then we’ll just need to hang all your paintings on the wall instead.”
“Jean—” you laugh.
“No, no,” he tilts your head back so that you’re staring at him upside down where you sit. “I built the house. I want you to decorate it with your art.”
You scrunch your nose when he kisses it. No point arguing.
“Fine. But I get to pick where it all goes.”
He shows a small, victorious smile, angling his head to brush his lips over yours at an awkward angle. “Just as long as it’s yours.”

Hi, Hello, I am once again presenting the internet with a fragment of the David/Asher fic I’m working on. This scene is a flashback, featuring Asher drunkenly flirting with David, and David being a little too strong for his own good.
This scene is about 1k and the full fic is shaping up to be about 16k words.
The moon had risen over the lakefront cabins the pack was staying in, but only the pups were sleeping. Everyone else had congregated in the main cabin that David, his dad, and Asher’s family were staying in. They were having a pack party of sorts. It wasn’t even for a holiday, although they were solidly in the midst of all the summer drinking holidays. The party was just a way for them to enjoy everyone else’s presence.
It was the first summer that most of the second generation of the pack could legally drink, so the alcohol was flowing quite freely. David sat comfortably in the corner of the couch with a lukewarm White Claw in his hand, watching as his friends drunkenly tried to play Mario Kart in mirror mode. Asher was next to him, with every inch of his side pressed up against every inch of David’s. It felt right.
“I don’t think there’s enough alcohol in the world to get me to like mirror mode,” Asher said, before turning to face David and continuing, “Come do a shot with me? I wanna put that theory to the test.” Asher had just been full out giggling a few moments before, and a blush had taken over his face about three shots ago.
Already five shots in and drunk enough to kill a man if Asher asked him too, but sober enough to still look out for his best friend, David said, “Fine, Ash, but this is your last one.” David was also still sober enough to pointedly ignore how his heart ached to call him his boyfriend instead of best friend and how his core tried to pull the word mate out of his mouth where Asher’s name was meant to be. He chugged the rest of his White Claw.
Asher jumped up giddily, passed his controller off to Milo, and pulled David by the wrist through the living room and into the kitchen. There was enough alcohol on the counters to kill a small army, courtesy of all the freshly 21-year-olds. Asher reached down into the sea of bottles and pulled out two. David raised an eyebrow at the Pink Whitney as Asher passed him the strawberry vodka. “I don’t know how you drink that. It tastes like perfume,” David said.
“Oh, it tastes like shit, but it does what I need it to, baby.” Something almost snapped in David at the ease in which Asher called him “baby”. Something else in him desperately wanted to hear it again. David’s hand was shaking as he poured his shot, and it wasn’t the alcohol’s fault.
Asher raised his shot glass to clink with David’s. With a crooked grin, Asher said, “Cheers,” and knocked his shot back like water. David did, too. The vodka tasted like bad mouthwash, and it burned going down. Asher lightly pushed David back in the direction of the living room. David led the way out, and Asher followed closely behind him.
Once they were back in the living room, David tucked himself back into his corner of the couch. This time, Milo was sat next to him where Asher had been. Instead of sitting on the floor next to him, like he was often more than content to do, Asher sat on David’s lap. He leaned back against the arm of the couch and snuggled into David. David felt a blush rise to his face.
Across the room, David’s father raised an eyebrow at him. He mouthed, “You good?” When David gave him a thumbs up, he mouthed back, “Liar.” David lightheartedly glared in return, because in all honesty, he was. Hell, if he was sober, he wouldn’t have even blinked twice at Asher sitting on his lap at this point. There were far worse things that Asher had done.
Once, Asher had come up and wrapped his arms around David’s waist while he was making breakfast for them after a sleepover. He’d pressed a kiss to the junction of David’s shoulder and neck, then rested his head between David’s shoulder blades. “We’re like a couple in a shitty romcom,” is what Asher had said, laughing to himself. He only pulled away when he heard Gabe coming.
Another time, David had carried Asher back into his apartment after a night out drinking. When David had put him in his bed, Asher pulled him down and kissed him like he was dying. David slept on the couch that night, and Asher didn’t remember it the next morning.
Gabe broke David out of his thoughts when he came up and pressed a glass of water into David’s hand. “Make sure he drinks some, too,” he had said, nodding towards Asher. He walked back over to his conversation with Marie before Asher had the chance to complain.
Asher turned to tuck his face into the crook of David’s neck, and the sweetness of it made David heartbeat race. Asher spoke against the sensitive skin there, “You’re so fucking pretty, David.”
David’s grip tightened on the glass in his hand. He clenched his jaw and felt his cheeks redden once again. Across the room, Gabe gave him another “Are you okay?” look. David shifted his eyes from his dad’s towards Asher’s direction and then back again, and his dad just laughed at him.
“No, really. It’s not fucking fair. How am I supposed to be the comedic relief friend if I can’t think when you’re around? You and your stupidly pretty gray eyes and your soft hair and your stupid muscles that you can pick me up with way too easily and,” Asher cut himself off, “God, you’re fucking gorgeous, Davey.”
David’s grip tightened further around the glass, and he was sure if he checked, he’d see his knuckles turning white. The glass was starting to flex in his hand, but it was the only thing left tethering him to reality and stopping him from making out with Asher right there on the couch.
Asher moved to look David in the eye. “You are a beautiful, beautiful man, David,” he said. Asher punctuated the thought by pressing a soft kiss to David’s cheek.
The glass in David’s hands shattered into a thousand tiny pieces, and more than a few embedded themselves in his hand. He shook the glass out of his palm, and Marie was already next to him, gesturing for him to give her the wounded hand and going on her spiel about how bad the pack was at taking care of themselves.
David announced to no one in particular when Marie had finished her healing, “I’m taking Asher up to bed.” He scooped up Asher and stood up with ease, despite the other man’s protests. It was just as much for his own good as it was for Asher’s.
As David carried Asher bridal style up the steps and away from the party, Asher was looking at him with nothing but want in his eyes. Asher wasn’t normally a horny drunk, or even a flirty drunk, but apparently he was tonight. When David set him down on his bed, Asher looked up at him with his eyes dilated and his face flushed. There was something sultry in his voice as he said, “I wanna do very bad things with you, David.”
A flustered, strangled noise slipped out of David’s mouth before he said, “Say that sober and then we’ll talk.” David left the room faster than he normally would and almost slammed the door behind him. He leaned back against it, breathing deeply and trying to think about anything other than Asher.

A Cozy Cabin Night
A/N: I re-wrote an older flash fiction story of mine!
Waiting for the kettle to boil, Marie curled up under her fuzziest blanket at her favorite spot: the little yellow couch by the fireplace and right next to a small, round window looking into the woods outside. It was late at night, and a thunderstorm raged outside, flinging sleet onto the roof. The internet had gone out maybe an hour ago. Things like that were a regular occurrence here— that, being paired with the storm, meant that this came as no surprise to her. As long as she still had running water, then she wouldn’t have any issues. Given how cheap the rent was on this cabin— which came with its own plot of woods and a lakefront— she really couldn’t complain.
Marie jumped when the lights started to flicker. It seemed that all power in the cabin might go out soon. Well, that was all right. She had a good fire going— and plenty of firewood to match— so she’d be able to survive a day or two without heating. Still, she didn’t want to be stuck without light… or water.
Hesitantly, she rose up from her seat by the fire, and headed over to the kitchen area. The kettle sat on the counter, still boiling. She reached for her cupboards, taking hold of her largest pot, and placed it in the sink. She turned on the tap and let the water run. Next, the bathtub. She marched her way down the one and only hall in the cabin, past the stairs leading to her bedroom to the very end and into the bathroom. After plugging the drain, she began to fill the tub. Even if she lost power, she would probably still have running water— but it never hurt to be careful. Once she was satisfied, she headed back to the kitchen to fill some more pots and light a few candles.
Marie lived in relative isolation. It didn’t bother her very much— she wasn’t really a people person anyway. Living this far from town could be lonely sometimes though. It had become especially tough on her social life ever since her friends in the city started refusing to visit… but that was okay. It wasn’t like she was ever really alone.
Looking out the window, through the falling hail and past the first line of trees, she could see it. Even in the dark, it was watching over her. Sometimes it brought her gifts. Things like little wicker dolls, animal bones, or severed fingers. SOmetimes she gifted it things in return— like her friend, Avery.
Ding!
Oh. It looked like her water was done boiling. Marie spared the creature one last glance before heading back to the kitchen. She slowly poured the water from the kettle into her teacup, watching the tea leaves that had rested at the bottom swirl around as she did. She set her timer again for five minutes. That would be a good amount of time to let it sit.
She returned to her spot by the window, looking out only to find that it had gone. She frowned. That was odd. Ever since she’d arrived here, she’d always been able to see it in the corner of her eye, watching her. She searched for it, because it had to be there. It wouldn’t make sense for it not to be. Through the glass, the hail, and the darkness, she allowed her eyes to catch on every flickering shadow, hoping to find it. Alas, nothing.
She sighed, giving up on her search and instead picking up her book from the coffee table and sitting down to read. She was sure it would turn up soon enough.
She didn’t get very far into her book before every light in the cabin switched off. The power had finally gone out. Well, it was a good thing she had lit all those candles earlier. If she hadn’t, she wouldn’t be able to see anything at all. Unfortunately, it was still too dark to read without straining her eyes.
Ding!
Oh. Her tea was ready. Sighing, she set her book down and shot one last look out the window. Nothing.
She walked back to the kitchen, feeling dejected. She turned the timer off, gathered her teacup in her hands, and blew away the steam. She returned to the couch, but just before she could sit down, three sharp, evenly spaced knocks sounded from the cabin door.
Confused, Marie set her tea on the table beside her, and walked over to the door. She hesitated for a moment before undoing the latch and slowly opening the door. … And there it stood, waiting for her.
It seemed the creature wanted to come inside.

Location “Wiki Pages”: Swan Lake
—–
Debut: Broken and Frozen
Location Influences: Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake
Ruler(s): Odetta (prime minister), the swan ministers
Inhabitants: Siegfried, Phil, Armot, Fiona, Edmund, Lila, swans, other birds, forest animals
Visitors: Swanna
Sublocations: Grand Swan Mansion, Moonlight Sound
—–
Swan Lake is a location in the Unikitty: Big Bright World series. It is led by Prime Minister Odetta and is where Swanna is from. Swanna calls it a land of style and dancing.
—–
Geography: Swan Lake is located east of where the Unikingdom is. It’s a wooded area that surrounds a far, wide clearing with a huge lake in it.
Between the woods and the lake are fields with sage green grass. The lake itself is Swan Lake’s most prominent feature. It’s so big that you can’t see the other side. The lake is a rich hue of blue and has many rivers flowing out from it. These rivers lead to the Moonlight Sound and the marsh on the other side of the woods. Connected to Moonlight Sound is another river that runs into the open sea.
Architecture: Buildings in Swan Lake are built quite stylishly. While homes tend to be small, places of business tend to be very large. In the woods, people live in cabins and cottages, and the buildings are spaced out from each other. Outside the woods, they are closer together, and people live in village houses. Many Swan Lakers also live in lakefront houses on the sides of the lake, or houses next to other bodies of water. There are even buildings in the water, accessible by stairways leading to underground tunnels. The buildings are usually built out of bricks. They tend to be the color of a certain bird's feathers, such as the Grand Swan Mansion in which Prime Minister Odetta lives. The tiles of the roof are black, and the walls are white like a swan's feathers. Most boats and ships that Swan Lake's citizens sail on are swan boats, airships, and ships that are shaped like swans.
Clothing: Because dancing, especially ballet, are such a key part of life in Swan Lake, most of the people living there wear fashions inspired by ballet and dance. Even if they don't wear dancing clothes, Swan Lakers are known for having quite the sense of style. In Swan Lake, it's considered proper to wear clothes.
At Swan Lake weddings, the “wedding party” stands around the marrying people wearing white outfits. The marrying people themselves will wear ballet-influenced outfits. If there is a bride, or if one of them is wearing bridal attire, they will wear a crown of feathers and a feathery, fluffy skirt. If there’s a groom, or if one is wearing groom attire, their outfit will resemble a prince’s regalia.
Swan Lakers wear red or purple outfits that resemble curtains to a funeral. They also wear veils on their faces, which also look like curtains. This is to show that the curtains have come down on the deceased person.
Currency: Swan Lake’s form of currency is the slipper. Each denomination, from 5 to 1000, comes in the form of silvery coins. They got their name from dancing slippers that were lined with the material the coins are made from.
Education: Children in Swan Lake attend primary school and then secondary school. School days there are notably longer than they are in the other lands. Also, unlike the other lands, the average age that kids start attending school is 3.
Culture: Swan Lake's demonym is the name of the land itself. So, when describing something related to it, you say its name (i.e. Swan Lake sailboats). Swan Lake people can be called Swan Lakers as well.
The people of Swan Lake are known for their willingness to seize the day, and for being spirited and graceful entertainers. They also enjoy traveling, as there are many ships, boats and airships docked in the harbor of Moonlight Sound. They ride swan boats to navigate the rivers around the land.
Some Swan Lakers are named after what kind of animal or being they are while others aren't.
Swan Lake's slang and terminology seems to come from their love of performing. Swanna says that Swan Lake has places to rest from Act One to now, which means they have them everywhere you look.
Swan Lake celebrates Christmas, but it's not a major holiday to them. They observe it by decorating the land with motifs of the Nutcracker. Their major, more anticipated winter holiday is the Sweets Ball, which comes after Christmas. On that day, they eat lots of sweets and candies and dance with them, envisioning themselves in the Land of Sweets after the defeat of the Mouse King.
The Harvest is a multiple-day event that takes place in autumn. On those days, Swan Lakers pick and collect grapes. They also attempt to court someone wearing a funny costume. Based on the Giselle ballet, it is an holiday associated with romance, similarly to Valentine’s Day.
Their idea of wealth stems from your sense of style or fanciness, and also your skill in activities like dancing.
Swan Lakers celebrate someone’s birthday by putting on a show about that person’s life for them. The show is done in the style of a ballet. Afterwards, the person is gifted with things that match their virtues and positive personality traits.
People in Swan Lake get engaged by going to the large lake, where one of them makes a vow of everlasting love to the other(s). They then exchange rings to make their engagement official.
Swan Lake wedding ceremonies begin with a legal process in an office to ensure that the marriage is binding. They proceed to the venue, where they re-recite their vow of love, extinguish a small fire to symbolize vanquishing evil, and stand on a stool to show they are rising together in love. A fun wedding tradition in Swan Lake is pretending that one of the marrying people got cursed and their beloved(s) has to save them.
For a Swan Lake funeral, dancing shoes are put on the foot pieces of the deceased person so that they’ll always be able to dance, even in spirit. They put the pieces in a cubic box that’s smaller than a coffin. There’s a picture of a ghost dancer on its top. Like birthdays, the person’s life is retold from start to finish in the style of a dance. Then, everyone goes to the nearest river, where they send the box spinning as it floats away. If Swan Lakers have their curtains drawn or their windows covered up with sheets, it means they’ve lost someone.
Dancing is the universal language of Swan Lake, and the most popular type of dance is ballet. This is to the extent that dance has influence on people's fashion choices, gestures and education. There are numerous theaters in Swan Lake where dance productions are put on and many dance studios throughout the land. Drama is quite known as well. Secondary schools in Swan Lake usually have their own ballet company for students to dance in. In all of their productions, the music is played by a live concert ensemble.
-----
Trivia:
Swan Lake is an obvious nod to Pyotr Tchaikovsky's famous ballet, but other ballets are referenced there as well.
In past versions, Swan Lake was an archipelago of islands under Germafrost's control, but Jezabat didn't want him to have been a villain. She also wanted to utilize the Lake in the land's name in some way.
Odetta’s name was Annabelle in earlier versions, and she was the mayor of Swan Lake instead of the prime minister.
Swan Lake is one of the first lands to have sent up a space probe, and some of its residents have been in space before. They’re looking to stage their first production on the moon, according to Swanna.
Swan Lake and Elegancia are allied with each other, but they don’t interact very often. They’re mostly focused on their own things, and they only mention each other in business-related topics.
Swan Lake used to be a monarchy.
An evil sprite overthrew the last queen of Swan Lake, and while the citizens managed to defeat her, they were unable to replace the monarchy. So, a group of swans who had a sisterly bond decided to run the land, becoming the first swan ministers.
Odetta is named after a queen named Odette, who once ruled the land. Her husband, Siegfried, is named after a prince from long ago.
A former Doom Lord who was from Swan Lake was an owl named Rothbart, who worked under the name Master Curses.
